trumpeter, although equally virtuoso he never gained the international fame of his rival Friedrich Sachsse, 1833-1851 he was trumpeter in Weimar and Detmold and performed in Hannover, the stadtmusiker Ernst Friedrich Ludwig Sachse (5.feb.1788-27.jun.1847) in August Schmidt 'Neuer Nekrolog' 1847 was his father, 1833 Weimar is his earliest documented concert, 5.mar.1848 he played his concertino at the Witwen-Waisen-Konzert in Weimar, 28.aug.1850 he played in the premiere of Wagner's Lohengrin conducted by Franz Liszt in Weimar, 1851 Oberstabstrompeter of the Weimarer grossherzoglichen Hofkapelle which was significantly enlarged that year by Franz Liszt, the claim that he gave some inspiring concerts c1860 in Paris is wrong because the Paris Revue et Gazette and Le Menestrel never mentioned a concert by any Sachse, Wolfgang Suppan gives Ernst Friedrich Ludwig Sachse died 5.oct.1870 not in Weimar, the Paris Revue et Gazette of 8.oct.1
